The platforms Rockstar lists
The official GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the planned November 19, 2026 release. Those are the announced launch platforms in the sources reviewed for this article.
Match a product listing to your exact console before buying. A page referring generally to “Xbox” or “PlayStation” is less useful than a listing with the correct console generation and edition. Read the product details on the platform store itself.
What about PC?
As of this article’s November 3 source check, the official pages cited here do not list a PC release date. That is an announcement status, not a prediction that a PC version will never happen.
A launch pattern from an earlier Rockstar game can help explain speculation, but it cannot supply a release date for a different game. We will update this page when an official announcement changes the available information.
A useful test for compatibility claims
If you see a supposed requirements table, ask where the specifications came from. An image with a logo or a detailed list of graphics cards is not evidence of an official announcement. Follow the link to the named publisher or storefront and check what it actually says.
The same test applies to claims about frame rates and graphics modes. A trailer, a marketing label and a measured console comparison answer different questions. Use them for their actual scope rather than turning one into another.
Before buying hardware for this game
Decide whether you need to play at the announced console launch or prefer to wait for more information. Then evaluate the full cost and usefulness of the hardware beyond a single assumed specification.
